As I have implied…we face a big problem this week in the form of Bills QB Josh Allen. His 28 total touchdowns (18 passing/10 rushing) is the same amount of touchdowns that our offense has generated all season.

The night is darkest just before the dawn. And I promise you, the dawn is coming. - I just think things need to get a little worse before they do.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are off to Chicago for a battle to determine who the true king in the north is right now - themselves, coming off a win against the Bengals and sitting atop the AFC North, or the Bears, winners of three-straight games and leaders of the NFC North

No window dressing…straight in. These are the dudes that led us to victory on Sunday in my opinion. Keep coming back for more of my opinions!

I don’t care how loyal you are to the Pittsburgh Steelers (I’m surely right there with you), there’s no way anyone saw that defensive performance coming. The Bengals came to Pittsburgh (some more respectfully than others), and got their ass beat both literally and figuratively.

This game feels like a pivotal moment for the 2025 Pittsburgh Steelers. I can say, for right or for wrong, there will be a lot more looking ahead on this particular platform if we drop the ball tomorrow. Let’s get this win, please.

No need for window dressing in this post. The Steelers got their ass beat by the Chargers in LA 25-10, and these are some of the plays I think they’d like to have back.

Like Ireland, this was essentially a home game for the Steelers away from Pittsburgh. In fact, if you listened to the broadcast, you may have heard them mention that the Chargers were practicing their silent count on Friday ahead of this game, but that didn’t end up meaning much. 

They also just lost their star LT Joe Alt for the rest of their season to compound the difficulties for their already-battered offensive line. Even as winners of two-straight games, I suspect they’re coming into this one with a ton of urgency.

Having had a chance to watch the all-22 of the Colts, I feel even better about the Steelers’ performance, particularly on defense, than I did immediately after the game.

27-20 was the final score, and I know the national talking point is that we should’ve won by a million given that the defense/special teams forced 6…yes S-I-X turnovers, but if you watched the same game that I watched then you should feel comfortable that the Steelers were the unequivocal better team in this game.

The 7-1 Indianapolis Colts are coming to the City of Steel for a game against the 4-3 Pittsburgh Steelers that has a chance to be a bloodbath. These two teams come into week 9 with extremely different vibes coming from both locker rooms and fan bases.

I aptly titled this post ‘The Worst is Yet to Come’, because we are only now getting to the meat of the schedule, and I’m not sure how the vibes could be lower.

On the injury front, the Steelers will be without WR Scotty Miller (finger), and C Zach Frazier (Calf) is listed as questionable, though it was reported earlier in the week that he intends to play. Calvin Austin III (shoulder) doesn’t have an injury designation, and will play for the first time since week 4.

We are coming off a few very good games in a row where the defense really looked the part, at times, and it’s unusual for it to completely fall apart the way that it did, but we all see Mike Tomlin’s record on Thursdays, and maybe he’s just not the coach for TNF.

The Bengals, losers of four straight games, are looking to tread water and avoid getting completely buried in the standings following an injury to their star QB, Joe Burrow. In the meantime, they traded for Joe Flacco, much to the chagrin of Mike Tomlin, and he’ll be their starter in tonight’s game.

That left side has struggled to pick up stunts at times this season, but it’s reasonable to expect their communication to continue to improve as this offensive line builds continuity with one another. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

Still, that 2020 playoff loss in Pittsburgh will weigh heavy in my brain for a long time, so I’m not moved by that “Browns haven’t won a regular season game in Pittsburgh since 2003” stat that has been circulated. I hate the Browns, and I wanna beat ‘em by 60 - just being forthright. 

Until the Ravens get healthy, the division goes through Pittsburgh, and that is NOT what realists were expecting coming into the season. It’s paramount that they capitalize on their positioning and take care of business against bad teams over the next two weeks. I think it will be the difference between hosting a playoff game in Pittsburgh and not. 

The Steelers takeover in Ireland ended in a 24-21 victory, and their luck didn’t stop there - week four losses for the Browns and Ravens also feels pretty good. Even more, since the Bengals lost last night, the Pittsburgh Steelers now sit in first place atop the AFC North heading into their extremely early week five bye. Let’s hope these old cowboys hold up at the tail end of this season.
